How you can help

Put a collar and info tag on your pets! Many of the animals that end up in the shelter are OWNED pets who have no form of ID on them. In addition to a tag consider a microchip too.

Spay or Neuter your pets! Many of the animals that end up in the county shelter are unwanted litters. Need help getting your pet fixed? Download a SNIP Fund application!

**Are you Feeding Outdoor, Barn or Feral Cats?**

Apply for financial aid in getting them fixed!

**Are you thinking of surrendering your pet?**

Try Re-Homing them instead!

Franklin County Animal Control

Animal Control is a county run facility under Franklin County Management.

If you take any animal there they must give the animal a minimum of 72 hours before they euthanize. The exception to this is an animal you own - then the animal can be put down that day.

Also if the shelter is at capacity they will euthanize animals to make room for incoming ones.

Franklin County Animal Control is no longer located at the landfill! Their brand new Animal Control Shelter is located at 351 T Kemp Road, Louisburg off of Hwy 56. Use the map below to get directions.
